This grade 3+ work was written right before Halloween, at a time when most folks are thinking about buying candy for 'Trick or Treaters'. However, the real meaning of the holiday is a Celtic celebration of the turning of the year from summer to winter, when the 'veil between the worlds is thinnest and the living communicate with their beloved dead', and is portrayed in this Atwell original. This piece has an abundance of seventh and ninth chords, therefore the balance between the voices is very important to the success of the piece. |
